Hello Ladies!

In the United States, we celebrate our freedom on July 4 of each year. Although
many of you are from other countries, I know freedom is as precious to you as it is to us.

This month's scripture surpasses any national freedom, because it is the freedom we have because of what Jesus did on the cross. Christ set us free from the shackles of sin.

Unfortunately, many of us are still shackled to the things of this world. Old hurts, current hurts, mistakes, cruelty from others, and so much more have us tied up.

Jesus said that in this world we will have tribulation but for us to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. Once you have left this earth, you will no longer be sad, regretful or in pain. But what do you while you're still earthbound?

Never give up hope. Even when circumstances are dreadful or overwhelming, keep your eyes focused on Jesus. His circumstances were dreadful and overwhelming, but He didn't give up. He kept His eyes focused on the goal.

Do what you can to improve your lot. If your spouse is abusive, separate until he gets help. If your finances are a disaster, do what you can to start improving them. If you are overweight, keep your eyes focused on the goal of losing ONE pound. (Then you can lose another and another....). Do this with every aspect of your life. Jesus lives in your heart and mind and soul. Your body may be bound to earth, but your heart and mind and soul are free!

freedom that's available
to you.

Now make it personal....
I have freedom

Write this scripture down and post it in a frequented area so it will become a part of your mind,
your heart, and your soul.

On your journey to renewal this month, concentrate on the freedom you have in Christ. Let it override the troubles you may be experiencing now. Let's consider a few things:

Finances: Take one step toward financial freedom. For example, fix lunch at home rather than eating out. Drink water instead of soda pop or tea or an overpriced Starbucks.

Household clutter: Take one step toward clutter freedom. Clean one cabinet in your kitchen. Or clean one sock drawer. Or purge one file.

Bible study: Take one step toward the freedom of losing yourself in God's word. This month read the book of Colossians. Read it over and over, even if one verse at a time. It's a short book, so it's not overwhelming. Absorb it. Think about it. Ask God to reveal truths in it. Personalize what you read to your life.

Relationships: Take one step toward freedom in your relationships, whether with others or yourself. How does God view this person? How can you learn to love that person as God loves them? How can you love the person but hate their sin? How can you learn to let go of your negative feelings? Work on ONE of these things.

Trials: Take one step toward overcoming your current trial. Look at it as if you were doing it for God. Realize you have God's strength to help you. Release your fears to God and accept His freedom.

Don't forget to pray! Take all your burden to God and let Him set you free.

Father, too many of us are burdened and shackled.
Some of the ties are of our own making,
but many are inflicted by others.
Fill my sister with your freeing power.
Help her experience the freedom of
overcoming the world --
perhaps not in her body,
but certainly in her heart and soul and mind.
Thank you for providing freedom to all Your children!
