Hello Sisters!
Sometimes
the Bible has scriptures that are kind of hard to understand -- and others are so crystal
clear they stop us in our tracks. That's my opinion of this month's guiding
scripture:
Everything
is permissible but not everything is beneficial.
How many
times have you engaged in an activity or thought or whatever that doesn't specifically
break one of God's commandments or man's rules, yet you know it's not good for you as a
child of God?
Let's look
at some examples:
Wasting
money on silly trinkets.
Eating too much junk food.
Not exercising.
Postponing studying your Bible "until tomorrow."
Deciding to clean when you have more time.
How many
other examples are specific to your life? |
Guiding Scripture...
Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Romans 12:2
In addition to Romans 12:2,
this month's scripture offers common sense advice for living.
Everything is permissible,
but not everything
is beneficial.
1 Corinthians 10:23
Write this scripture down and
post it in a frequented area so it will become a part of your mind,
your heart, and your soul. |
I implore you,
sister, to apply this scripture to your daily life.
If something isn't beneficial to your life as a
daughter of God, then why should you allow it to be permissible in your life?
Prayerfully look at your life.
Identify things that you are allowing (that are
permissible) even though they are not beneficial.
Determine a specific plan to eliminate those
thoughts, actions and attitudes that are not beneficial.
Look at everything as if looking through the eyes
of God.
Make changes as necessary. START TODAY, then
let me hear from you as you find the joy and freedom of escaping things that are
permissible but not necessarily beneficial. |
