We recently had new windows installed.   We expected that they would be prettier than the old ones, that they would be easier to clean than the old ones, and even that we would be able to keep the house cooler at a higher thermostat setting. What we didn't expect was that the house was much quieter.   We don't necessarily live in a noisy area although we are subject to cars driving down the street and an occasional plane overhead.  Since the installation of the new windows, however, we don't hear anything except sirens from emergency vehicles.  The quiet is quite nice!

This topic's Renewal Manna is about being still.  How often do you really stop and listen to God's word?  How often do you really stop and bask in the glory of God? No words, no music, no nothing.  Just the peacefulness of knowing that God IS.

Even in our prayer life, it's hard to be still and "hear" God because we're so busy pouring out our petitions for our needs and our wants.
