| The Direction You Take
Determines Your Destination
At the end of every December, we stand at
the crossroads of a new year as the old year passes and the new year awaits us.
As with any road crossing, you must make a decision
which paths you will traverse. This is crucial because the direction you take will
determine your destination. In all aspects of your life, you will be faced with a decision
which direction will you follow?
If you meander down your own paths, you will
probably encounter pitfalls, dead-ends and even crashes! That's why the prophet Jeremiah
told God's people to look for the ancient paths. The ancient paths are those
followed by people who obeyed God. They are the paths of righteousness (Psalm 23:3). They
are the paths illuminated by God (Psalm 119:105). They are paths of eternal life (Proverbs
12:28). The common denominator is that these paths are guided by God and lead to God.
Beloved, as you stand at the crossroads of your personal "new
year", obey what God told Jeremiah. Always stay focused on God's way -- not your way.
Always follow His directions as your roadmap -- rather than marching to your own drummer.
Then you can walk confidently and prosperously because you'll be walking with God!! What a journey!!! |
